All visa applicants are required to fill and submit their visa applications online at http://indianvisaonline.gov.in. Granting/rejecting Indian visa applications is the sovereign right of the Government of India and therefore, visa cannot be claimed by any applicant as a matter of right. No journey should be undertaken to India before obtaining the appropriate visa.

While filling the application form online, under ‘Country/Region you are applying visa from’ applicants should select ‘Reunion Island’ and under “Indian Mission/Office”, applicants should select ‘Reunion Island – St. Denis’. This applies to all applicants, including applicants from Mayotte and citizens of other countries applying for visa at the Indian Consulate in Reunion Island.

The applicant applying for visa at this Consulate should be a resident of Reunion Island or Mayotte. If not, additional documents may be asked for.

After filling and submitting the application form online, applicants are required to print the application form and submit it, along with two recent colour photographs of size 5x5cm with white/light background and relevant documents required for each type of visa, at the Consulate on working days between 0930hrs and 1200hrs except on Consulate Holidays.

Please note that each applicant will have to visit the Consulate personally for submission of visa application and biometric data.

Visa fee amount will depend on the type of visa applied for, your nationality, profession etc. and payment has to be made at the Consulate by card only. Fees once paid will NOT be refunded.

Visa application for minor children:

1. For minor children (i.e. below 18 years of age) who will be traveling alone, a 'No Objection Certificate' from both the parents attested by Municipality is mandatory for processing of visa applications.
2. For minor children (i.e. below 18 years of age) who will be traveling with one parent, a letter of 'No Objection' from the other parent is mandatory for processing of visa applications.

Important Information:

• Choose your visa category based on your purpose of travel or in certain cases even your profession. For example: an applicant who is a journalist by profession will have to choose Journalist Visa (J1) even if the purpose of visit is tourism.
• The validity of a visa begins on the day it is issued by the Consulate and not on the date of departure.
• The application must be personally submitted by the applicant at the Consulate.
• The Consulate General of India accepts all payments of fees only by card.
• The Visa Fee once paid is non-refundable. Payment only allows the applicant to deposit a visa application and is not a guarantee of issuance of visa. The Consulate reserves the right to accept, refuse or modify a visa application, as deemed necessary under extant rules and regulations.
