'VAIBHAV fellowships' for the Indian diaspora in Science Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Medicine (STEMM) Public Notice

'VAIBHAV fellowships' for the Indian diaspora in Science Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Medicine (STEMM)

On the occasion of National Science Day, the Government of India launched “VAIBHAV Fellowships” for Indian Diaspora in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Medicine (STEMM). The scheme is aimed at engaging Diaspora scientists to facilitate academic and research collaboration between Indian and foreign institutions. It is open to NRIs/PIOs/OCI working abroad and offers them adjunct/visiting faculty positions in Indian institutions/universities.

Defence Research & Development Organization (DRDO), in October 2020, organized a global summit of Overseas and Resident Indian scientists and academicians called the Vaishwik Bharatiya Viagyanik (VAIBHAV) Summit. The Summit identified 18 verticals and 80 horizontals under a comprehensive roadmap to leverage the expertise and knowledge of global Indian researchers for addressing emerging challenges for universal development.

As a follow-up to the VAIBHAV Summit, the VAIBHAV Fellowships have been launched to make more efforts to engage with the Diaspora scientists and academicians and to leverage their association with the leading universities/research institutions to establish research and academic collaboration with Indian institutions.

The scheme details can be accessed at https://dst.gov.in/news/vaibhav-fellowships.
